Herbert Sott was a founder and senior member of Barris, Sott, Denn & Driker.  He practiced business and real estate law in Detroit since 1946 until his death in 2007.  Herb was involved as both lawyer and business counselor to numerous real estate developers and to major financial institutions in connection with hundreds of real estate projects in southeastern Michigan.  Known for keen analytical skills, his advice on the feasibility and financing of real estate developments sought out by scores of developers and lenders.  Herb counseled hundreds of business clients in a broad range of legal and financial matters, from the start-up of small businesses to the merger of publicly-held corporations.
